Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
We are a dynamic community of faith where ALL are welcome. Our Baptist community is a testament to the fact that God is always doing a new thing within the people of God… our Lord is a living God who shows up in the midst of our everyday lives.
We love the Lord, each other and no one is a stranger!
We are men, women, teens, and children.
We are followers of Jesus Christ who seek to be in alignment with the will of God for our life.
We are the diversity of God’s people.
We are strong and when we are weak, the Lord builds us up.
We are joyful, passionate, and fun.
We are thoughtful, serious, devoted to the Lord, and support the growth of one another.
AND the Pavilion of God is a safe place and sacred space!! Praise the Lord!!
At the Pavilion of God Baptist Community, we're always excited to welcome new friends. We hope you'll join us for worship, and we want you to feel at home and as comfortable as possible.
During this COVID-19 pandemic, we are keeping the promises of God ALIVE despite the requisite social distancing.
Social distancing DOES NOT mean spiritual separation!
Every Sunday, we worship and praise the Lord as God’s divine community. We use various platforms for worship, internet radio and LIVE streaming.
You’ll always see a LINK on our WELCOME page for worship, bible study, prayer meeting, youth ministries, pandemic outreach ministries, and any of the Pavilion’s ministries.
You can always rely on a “real” and uplifting worship experience on Sunday at 12 noon.
FYI: In non-pandemic times, we worship at 6401 Chillum Place, NW Washington, DC.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church, for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors (virtually or physically), you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, others like to remind them that Jesus never wore a tie. Shorts are as welcome as suits, and you'll see both.
Be sure to hang around after the service and join us for a light repass and fellowship. You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
