"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you" (2 Timothy 1:6).
At the Pavilion of God, our youth matter… in fact, they are simply great! Often we think of the church as an institution and it is; but within the biblical and faith context, the church is a family – a community – and, our youth are at the center of the Pavilion of God community.
Our youth are valued and respected for the challenges they bring, and the infectious energy they have. They are passionate about life and they embrace their faith in Jesus in ways that transform their lives and continually “stirs up” the fire of faith for all of us! They need us; and we need them!
One of the ways we support the youth with faith formation is through our youth group, Young Christian Power (YCP), which is a collaborative group with New Community Church, a sister congregation. The YCP meets on the 1st and 3rd Fridays. They have fellowship, Bible Study, fun, and retreats. For more information, contact Minister Daryl Puryear, dhpuryear@yahoo.com
Note: The YCP continues to be active in SAFE and creative ways during the Coronavirus.
A treasured tradition at the Pavilion of God is Youth Sunday. Each year, graduating seniors offer a personal message during the sermon time. They always teach us and bless us in unique ways. We, then, lay hands on our youth speakers, praying that they are empowered to go forth and become true co-creators with God!
